Oncidium Twinkle is a primary hybrid between Onc. cheirophorum and Onc. sotoanum. This hybrid was registered in 1958 and since then has achieved global popularity with many different forms being grown by enthusiasts.
Lighting
Oncidium “tiny twinkle” is suitable for bright to light shaded places but must be protected from afternoon sun. some morning and/or evening sun will be tolerated. during summer it can be placed in the garden.
Temperature
this orchid can be cultivated at room temperature throughout the year with a winter minium of 14 °c/57 °f.
Soil/repotting
Oncidium “tiny twinkle” needs a special orchid mix (with fir bark and peat moss) and can’t be grown in a regular potting soil. it should be repotted every 2-3 years, when it begins to outgrow the pot and the soil is going to break down.
Watering
It can be deep watered, what’s running out of the pot’s hole must be removed after a few minutes. wet legs can cause root rot. before adding water next let it become moderately dry. if the pseudobulbs begin to shrink can indicate that the orchid was kept too dry.
Fertilizer
If oncidium “tiny twinkle” is actively growing or flowering a half diluted orchid fertilizer can be given monthly.
Humidity
Spraying it over with water can increase humidity. this should be done in the morning, so the water has time to evaporate throughout the day. it also gives the orchid some extra water so it can tolerate if the soil gets a bit drier.
